We had the distinct pleasure of hosting the 39th edition of the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) in person for the first time in three years. Over 8,000 participants from academia and industry joined us from 97 different countries for a very exciting and successful conference. The conference attracted 4,703 in-person attendees, nearly half of which were students.
Besides being the largest robotics conference to date, we had 96 exhibitors, 56 workshops, and 6 forums that explored the many ways in which robotics and automation are changing the future of work. ICRA showcased cutting edge research, featured in 1498 published papers, 3 plenary lectures and 9 keynote presentations. The papers included 13 award-winning papers for automation, coordination, dynamics and control, interaction, learning, locomotion, manipulation, mechanism design, navigation, and planning.
We are delighted that ICRA is back, bigger and better. We want to thank all the members of the organizing committee for their dedicated service and hard work, and all ICRA attendees who attended ICRA. We are grateful we had the opportunity to host you in Philadelphia.

EMNLP 2021 is planned to be a hybrid event in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, with both on-site and fully virtual participation possible. The experience for on-site participants would closely approximate a normal pre-COVID *ACL conference, with 5-6 thematically organized parallel sessions and live Q/A and interactive discussion immediately after the talks. Presentations by virtual participants will be equitably interleaved with those of on-site participants, projected on the auditorium screens as if on-site, and also followed immediately by live Q/A and interactive discussion at a time during reasonable waking hours for the virtual presenter. For all participants, on-site and virtual, who are unable to attend a session due to either time-zone issues or because they are participating in another session live, talk recordings and slides will be available online at a minimum after the live presentation (and in many cases before as well), and questions may be submitted in advance on session-specific discussion boards and answered live in session with the usual visual aids if desired.

The Middle East undeniably has undergone a huge digital paradigm shift due to the striking technological disruption across the government authorities with the enormous data produced. There has been tremendous acceptance of digital data across these authorities which has resulted in improving the life of the citizens in the region. Many countries in the middle east have also introduced policies to encourage data sharing by making data and digital technologies as the most important pillar for their future vision and strategies. This has a market opportunity of $255 billion with captalisation on advancement of digital maturity across the region. Despite the huge shift, the MENA region is yet to explore more opportunities to meet global standards in the areas of data sharing, open data platform, transparency, security, and monetizing of data. In light of this, the 3rd edition of the Data-Driven Government Conference taking place on 10-11 May 2023, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is exclusively hosted to bring together 250+ professionals and experts from the government, ministries, public sector, international councils, alliances, and technology sector to shed light on the digital capabilities, data security, sustainability, and the future data usage trends for the government sector. The distinguished expert panel of speakers will discuss the region’s forward journey to deep dive in implementing data-based infrastructure for moving towards the mega digital world to effectively regulate and support their national socio-economic development.
